So you think you can dance America

I love this show. There have been some great dancers and choreography on it. I have put two of my favourites from this season below.

Do Rei Me Reborn

I love the movie The Sound of Music. I could listen and sing along to it for ages. Vivien posted this on Facebook and I just had to share. It's a train station in Antwerp with over 200 performers. I love this stuff.

Great Result

Wahoo! We raised $215 for the RSPCA on Monday with our cupcakes. I think we will do it again next year. :)

Cupcake Day & Sam the Koala

Yummy yummy yummy I've got cupcake in my tummy and I feel like going back for more.

Wow you should see all the cupcakes that have been made. People have really gone way out for today. There are some really tiny ones (which I took because I am being good but till enjoying) and they were a lovely surprise ... cheesecake cupcakes. Mmm Mmm. Am I making you feel hungry yet. I wish I had a photo. There are coconut ones, chocolate ones, normal vanilla ones with awesome icing and sprinkles on top, there's blue ones, pink ones, fruit ones. The list goes on.

For cooking some I got some treats for my dogs. They are bite size and crunchy apparently. I haven't opened them yet because they are nicely wrapped in paw stamped paper and are taped up.

A big thanks to Dee for organising this. I can't wait to find out how much was raised.

On a sad note but still animal related. Earlier this year I did a series of blogs on Sam the Koala. Since the fires died down and life started returning to normal I didn't hear any more about her until a friend told me they had read an article on the web. Sam has had to be put down but not because of her fire related injuries. Click here to view the web site.

RSPCA Cupcake Day

Tomorrow at work there is a group of us taking in cupcakes for the RSPCA cupcake day. For those not from Australia the RSPCA is the Royal Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Anyway despite having done Home Ec in high school and doing a major in it at Uni I have never in my life made cupcakes.

First of all I realised that I needed milk, just the smallest amount, so there was no point in buying even a 600ml container. I asked around about cooking with Rice Milk but no-one had ever done that. One friend said "hey it's milk just try it." So I did.

I have not done much cooking (ie anything requiring an oven) since Uni because every house I have been in seems to have a dud oven that doesn't cook properly. I was not sure how these would work out. In the end they only needed 5 minutes more than the recipe and the temp on an extra 20 degrees.

I made 12 in all but only 11 fit into the container so I took the chance to try one before embarrassing myself at work tomorrow. Ooooh yummy is all I can say.

All Hail Bo

Today has been wind, rain, and then some sun in a continuous cycle. At the moment it is windy again. About an hour ago we had some hail, which for Perth is rare. Those of you in regions that get hail a lot and have huge ice balls landing in your yard please do not mock the tiny size of our hail. After all size isn't meant to matter. Soon after the hail photo's were taken it was time for Bo to break out into the modeling world.

The white patch used to be grey sand

Front door frog not impressed

This was the test shoot on Thursday

Getting ready for the big shoot (blogger decided not to have the photo the correct way round).

Tess making a final makeup check

"Hang on the sun is in my eyes!"

The close up shot - I want you to look straight ahead

Now show me some shoulder and some attitude.

Will the real Padma please stand up

Well it appears my furry babies had a real impact on Sulea's furry baby. Apparently since Saturday he has been a changed dog. He is now a sook and asking for cuddles; instead of biting he is liking, he is very quiet. Its a pity he hasn't learnt that the carpet is not his personal toilet yet though.

The blog is http://stampingartlore.blogspot.com/

Please pass it on to anyone you think might be interested.

Furry 4 legged kids

You must consider yourselves very lucky to see some of these photos. Firstly remember that I am not a supermodel and do not like my photo being taken. Secondly it was supposed to be a day of craft fun hence the old clothes, the no makeup and the hair slapped up without a care in the world.

As promised Sulea sent her photo's to me so here they are. Like I mentioned in yesterdays blog post, Padma was so fast paced it was hard to get a photo. These photos show that.

This is me trying to get out the gate and Tess trying to escape Padma

After about 5 tries and a couple of front yard escapes I managed to get out there dog free.

Me again trying to get photos while 3 dogs run round and round me.

I thought the only logical thing for me to do was get into Padma's little enclosure. Ummm didn't quite work as Tess and Bo were determined to break in.

I gave in and sat on the ground. I thought I would hold Padma to give the others a break bu he was too much of a wriggler.

Here is Bo thinking she is safe on me. Sulea missed the should shot.

All of this in the first 5 minutes. My poor girls were puffed. It was good for them though as they need to lose a couple of pounds.

Sulea then sent these of Padma. We didn't think he would ever wear out but apparently he did after the troop left.

Who needs children ...

... when you have 3 dogs to cart around! Oh my goodness! Today was craft day at Sulea's. She loves Bo so I was going to take Bo with me to meet Sulea's new puppy, Padma. He has finished his shots and can associate with other dogs now. I had everything I needed packed up and ready to go out to the car when I saw that Rambo was not himself at all. I picked him up and he just went limp in my arms. Normally he would hold his head up or try to get down but not this morning. Considering his age and medical condition he had me worried.

Here was my thought process. Bo needed to come if any dog was going because she is the friendliest and most likely to get on with Padma (didn't want is first encounter of his own kind to be not so nice). I didn't want to leave Rambo behind but I couldn't take 2 of them and leave Tess. Thanks to the lovely Sulea I was able to take all three. By the time I got 3 beds, 3 dogs, a water bowl, craft stuff and a small heater in the car I felt like I had packed up for a camping trip.

On arrival at the camping site (Sulea's) Rambo was immediately put inside on the bed where he happily stayed. Once every thing else was in, Tess and Bo were introduced to Padma. I don't have many photo's because Tess and Bo were trying to hide behind me as this little bundle of energy, all excited for company, bounced around trying to get them to play. Sulea got some so I will wait and see how they turned out. At one stage I sat down and Bo manage to get onto me and leveraged herself onto my shoulder with her bum in my face almost.

After a while he left Bo alone but he kept chasing Tess. They would go round and round in circles (usually with me in the middle). We eventually locked Padma away in his little home so Bo and Tess could get some piece.

This is Padma the innocent, hyperactive, will chase anything that runs, dog. I am lucky I got these because he is so fast.

This was a good shot until Padma moved. Both Tess and Bo were watching Padma through the door and in turn Padma was sprawled out on the floor in front of the doggy door so they wouldn't get in.

This is Bo at the start of the day. She would run from me to Sulea in the hopes someone would get her high enough to get away from Padma.

Of course once everything seemed to have settled down Steve came home and disrupted the peace. Rambo barked (yes he was much more his usual self by then) only because Steve was a new person to the house and because he is not used to men. Tess barked and growled and circled and barked some more and then growled any time Steve dared to move. Bo just barked because every one else was and lapped up the attention Steve gave her.

This was my queue to pack up. About 30 minutes later stamps, papers, punches, camera, wood burner, ink pads, pendants and numerous other craft items plus the dogs and their stuff were once again loaded into the car. I think I now have an idea what my friends with babies go through every day they go out!

Oh yes some card making did occur and I tried my hand at some wood burning as well. That is a lot of fun. I did make 4 cards but none are really finished (hence no photo's) as I am waiting for an order to come through with items I need to finish them off.

And so ends another blog of this frazzled mother of three. May they let me sleep in tomorrow.

Macro fun

A couple of weeks ago I purchased a new lens for my camera so that I could get up a little more close and personal with things. Today was the first day I got to have some fun with it. The sun was shining (and warm) so I took advantage of the nice weather. Below are my results. I just love the ant. If I blow it up big on my screen I can see little silver hairs glistening on the back end of him.

I currently have the house to myself and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I have even managed to get into a really messy room and start cleaning it out. Sorry no photo's of that for embarrassment reasons. I can't believe I let it get that bad that is all I can say.
Well I am off to make some cards for a swap. I have made 10 and have another 15 to do. Photos soon.
